April 21, 2022 – For 15 years, the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance has been positively impacting health and economic sustainability in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Most recently, this has been driven through the THRIVE framework: Transforming Health Regionally in a Vibrant Economy.

Launched in 2019 after extensive planning and collaboration, THRIVE is a transformational effort to positively shift health and economic success through a strategic focus on the actions that will pave the way for healthy people and a vibrant community.

I’m inspired by the progress we’ve made thus far and while my journey with MiHIA started just a few short months ago, I’m thrilled to have joined a team determined to create positive community impact for decades to come.

I believe the challenges we’ve faced over the past couple of years have emphasized the critical need to focus on our strategic priorities and accelerate those initiatives that will generate the greatest outcomes. We are uniquely positioned — by working together — to drive not just incremental gains, but to fuel truly transformational change in the Great Lakes Bay Region.

I’m proud to share the collective results of THRIVE over the first few years. It’s astounding to think of what we can achieve when working together. As you read further about the details and impact of this work, please know the important role you play, whether that is as a partner, a funder or a community member, in advancing the region toward a healthier, more vibrant future. We are stronger together and we look forward to continuing to advance these efforts collectively.

While we want to take time to celebrate these successes, we know that this is just the beginning. Vital and important work lies ahead to better our region for all. We are dedicated to passionately and collaboratively building an equitable, prosperous future.

Let’s advance healthy and vibrant communities, together.
