the path to implementation

The strategic planning work of THRIVE has been completed and the transition to implementation is underway.

1. Stakeholder Interviews & Community Perspectives (Summer 2017): 

80+ Regional stakeholders were interviewed to establish ideas, approaches to health and economic improvement, values and trade-offs, gain local perspectives, as well as potential opportunities and challenges.

2. Identifying Strategies via System Mapping (Fall 2017):

Comprehensive health ecosystem map was developed to illustrate leverage points for simultaneous health and economic improvements. The map helped identify 5 Priority Areas, possible interventions and modifications of resources to achieve different outcomes.

3. Collecting Evidence-Based Interventions & Setting Metrics (Winter 2018):

Working teams were directed to focus on one of the five strategic areas in order to submit final portfolio recommendations. Submissions were specific actions to make the greatest impact in one area of the ecosystem, were based upon the utilization of data and national expertise and evidence, gaining insight from local leadership, incorporating on-going priorities and current work.

4. Selecting Intervention & Modeling (Spring 2018):

Interventions in the Portfolio were reviewed against criteria to ensure strategy alignment, implementation feasibility and cost effectiveness. The combined portfolio (All THRIVE) of all five strategic areas was then run through a simulation model and analytics in order to project impact and expected outcomes on numerous metrics over a twenty year horizon.

5. Comprehensive Planning & Collectively Committing (Fall 2018):

The Launch Team evolved to the Steering Team and the ALL THRIVE portfolio was finalized as a cohesive, community-aligned and connected plan . Partnerships were strengthened locally as well as with national organizations and nonprofits. Regional leaders worked to obtain three-years of capacity support funding, illustrating the strong level of commitment, to begin portfolio implementation in 2019.

6. Implementation for Impact (Winter 2019 and beyond):

The Steering Team will provide effective long-term and sustainable coordination of the portfolio and measurement of its progress. The Steering Team will review and approve readiness of intervention implementation, authorize a phased process; develop a comprehensive financing strategy, blending and braiding multiple sources of funding and reimbursement for the regional portfolio; and provide oversight of an effective communication strategy.
